With 3 hardnesses within the Heaps line, how do you know what to select?
Peter (the “PE” part of PELI), was also the owner/director of Glasatelier Oud Rijswijk in NL, one of the largest Dutch glass studios. Peter uses Heaps “soft” lead came and says: “It’s easy to work with and since it has a very little bit of antimony, it’s also weather resistant. Soft lead came is easy to trim when installing a panel, if necessary.”
Here’s a general guide:
– Lots of curves and very small pieces: Extra soft
– Some curves, a few small pieces: Extra soft or Soft
– All straight line work: Soft or Half-hard
