This advanced two-day workshop is dedicated to mastering the art of glass painting with a focus on realistic animal portraits. Prior experience with glass painting techniques is necessary. You will explore the process of creating detailed animal portraits by layering paint and utilizing various painting mediums. Special emphasis will be placed on capturing the texture and realism of fur. Participants will complete 2-3 different animal portraits and will have the option to work on one project from personal photos or designs.
Participants need to bring:
– Badger brush(es), contour brushes, matting brushes, stipplers, palette knife, painting bridge
– (Optional) One realistic animal portrait printed and sized to 15×20 cm as a model for one of your projects
Materials needed can be purchased at PELI Glass or elsewhere. As a workshop participant you are entitled to a 10% discount on all paintbrushes, mediums and 5-10% on paints in stock purchased from PELI Glass (sets not included) until the end of the workshop.
During the workshop Ellen and PELI Glass will provide you with: designs, paints, mediums, glass, protective gloves, use of the kilns, lunches, snacks, drinks/coffee. Food suitable for vegetarians will be available. There will be a packing/transport cost applicable for your finished artwork if PELI must send the finished pieces to you.
Workshop will be given in English/Dutch.
